With an objective to support the local state agencies and make them more responsive to the rights of marginalized people, Samagra organized an “Interaction Program on Present condition of Human Rights at local level and an initiative for its improvement” on September 23, 2016 in Kathmandu. Jamindra Man Ghale, CA member, Rameshwor Fuyal, CA member, Mahesh Basnet, Former Industry Minister, Bir Bahadur Buda Magar, National Human Rights Council, Sita Ram Ghale Pariyar, Dalit Aayog, Member Secretary represented local state agencies while SF representatives from all 13 districts represented local level and discussed about the current scenario of human rights in their area. Issues related to caste discrimination, National park, woman’s right, income generation and dowry system were raised by SF members and were further discussed on ways to address those issues.
