Some examples of key-achievements:
Advocacy to fulfill human rights & campaign against violation:
- More than 27,000 individuals obtained citizenship certificates
- More than 8,000dalit/janajati children enrolled in schools &more than 6,000 got scholarships
- Empowered SFs, tapped the resources equivalent to Rs.181 million.
- Change of attitude / response of duty bearers towards general people & service delivery; improved vertical relation (between people and local state agencies)
- 285 cases of actions taken / monitoring (in addition to regular monitoring within SFs at the local level)
- In the communities where there are Social Families, the caste-based discrimination have been reduced to a great extent and even eradicated completely in some places.
Advocacy for good-governance and policy change:
- Good-governance enhanced and corruption controlled at the local level (VDC/DDC).
- Social Audits enhanced transparency, accountability and trust; local advocacy reached ministry:
Leadership development inmarginalized people:
- 6 dalit women from SFs became CA members (of which Mrs. Ramani Ram of Saptari even became State Minister)&more than 900 SF members have become local level leaders holding different positions.
Conflict transformation/ peace building at local level:
- 324 conflict transformation trainers in district and Social Family levels
- Exposure visits of Terai and hills SFs promoting cohesion / harmony between Madhesi and Pahade.
- More than 10,000 HHs of more than 500 SFs are practicing social harmony / cohesion, helping as peace agents.
Livelihood enhancement / Local resource mobilization:
- More than 2,000 people (25% women) trained and 60% of them employed.
- 41 cooperatives formed/trained & mobilizing local resources
- Central revolving fund of Rs. 10 millions and local revolving fund of Rs. 20 millions – have been mobilized in SFs/IGGs.
Rural Infrastructure and Environment:
- 92 km of mule trails constructed in northern Gorkha based on labour intensive and green road concept
- 47 Km of green road constructed in Gorkha
- 137 drinking water schemes including rainwater harvesting systems.
- 449 toilets and 740 awareness raising activities on sanitation and hygiene.
- 37 school buildings, 45 community buildings, 3 micro-hydro, 7 suspension bridges, etc.
- More than 200 SFs including more than 6,000 HHs have been mobilized for forest conservation, landslides/soil erosion protection, improved stoves, bio-gas, alternative energies, etc.
Strategic Planning Preparation:
- In Dhading district (Poverty Alleviation Fund supported activities), 10 enterprise development curriculum was delivered with MEDEP model
- “Strategic and Operational Planning (Participatory Planning)” of SAMAGRA, Social Families and Community organizations were prepared and they are being implemented (more than 300)
- “District Enterprise Strategic Planning” for Mahottariand Dang district were prepared.
Survey and Policy document preparation:

Activities:
To achieve the envisaged objectives and outputs, the following activities are being implemented under three different projects this year:
Governance Facility:
A Partnership Agreement was signed between the Governance Facility and SAMAGRA on 15th October, 2015 to support for the implementation of “Empowering Marginalized People for Peace Building and Democratic Development” project covering a 3 years period from November 1, 2015 to 31st December 2018. The following activities are being implemented under this project.

LGCDP II:
Local Governance and Community Development Program (LGCDP) II which is a government led program jointly financed by the Government of Nepal and Development Partners that mainly focuses on local governance and community development sectors. LGCDP has been supporting 75 District Development Committees (DDCs), 217 Municipalities and 3,157 Village Development Committees (VDCs).
Samagra Bikash Sewa Kendra is acting as one of its Local Service Provider (LSP) in Kathmandu and Lamjung since 2013. The overall goal of the LGCDP II is to contribute towards poverty reduction through better local governance and community development. The program envisages empowering citizens to engage them actively with local governments and increasing the capacity of local governments to manage resources and deliver basic services in an inclusive and equitable manner besides strengthening institutional framework for decentralization, devolution and community development. Samagra has been carrying out following activities to support LGCDPs program:
- Selection and mobilization of Social Mobilizers
- Selection and training to Community Volunteers
- Manage/Support and/or provide social mobilization and other necessary trainings
- Support Livelihood Improvement Plan/activities
- Support for the formation and operation of Citizen Awareness Centers (CAC)
- Support for the formation and mobilization of Ward Citizen Forums (WCFs)
Poverty Alleviation Fund:
PAF is created by Government of Nepal as a special and targeted program to bring the excluded communities in the mainstream of development, by involving the poor and disadvantaged groups themselves in the driving seat of development efforts. It seeks to improve living conditions, livelihoods and empowerment among the rural poor, with particular attention to groups that have traditionally been excluded by reasons of gender, ethnicity, caste and location. It has implemented its program in 59 districts. Samagra has been acting as its partner organization to implement its program in Dhading district. Following programs are included by PAF to uplift the living condition of targeted group:

Regular Activities:
Besides above mentioned activities, Samagra regularly carries out various training and awareness programs to mobilize SFs that are united in a group and are facilitated to tap resources from state agencies. Different activities are carried out regularly to empower SFs to access services, resources and opportunities and to mobilize them for sustained livelihood in peaceful manner.
